Developed two kinds of high voltage (100 V) conductive polymer
aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors; one for radial lead type
LV series and another for chip type CV series.

Preface
Nichicon Corporation is responding to demands for even higher withstand voltages and reliability for industrial machinery applications. We have developed conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors with the highest rated voltage (100 V) in the industry. We have introduced the LV Series of radial lead type capacitors and the CV Series of chip type capacitors, and we have expanded both series to the rated voltages of 63-100 V.
We displayed these products at CEATEC JAPAN 2010, which was held October 5-9 (Tuesday-Saturday) at the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex.
 
Overview and development background
Since aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors that use conductive polymers as cathode materials have outstanding ESR* characteristics, they are frequently used in computers and computer peripherals. With the introduction of products with high withstand voltages, however, their adoption in LED backlight drive circuits for flat screen televisions has also been increasing. Products with high withstand voltage ratings that, for example, also have high permissible ripple performance and great stability at a wide range of operating temperatures, which are traits behind the low ESR characteristics, are able to meet the requirements of the market, starting with the industrial machinery field.
 
Features
Based on the technologies that we have developed over the years, we have realized a rated voltage of 100 V, which is the highest in the industry, with these products by optimizing polymer formation methods, part composition and element design. As a result, we believe that our customers will adopt our conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors also in circuits for industrial machinery applications, including high confidence and high output power sources.
