Developed two kinds of conductive polymer aluminum solid
electrolytic capacitors with 125°C use; one for radial lead type LX series
and another for chip type CX series.

Preface
As conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors for industrial machinery applications, which demand high reliability, Nichicon Corporation has developed the radial lead type LX Series and the chip type CX Series of products with guaranteed performance for 3000 hours at 125°C (1500 hours forphi6.3).
We showed these products at CEATEC JAPAN 2010, which was held October 5-9 (Tuesday-Saturday) at the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex.
 
Overview and development background
Since aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors that use conductive polymers as cathode materials have outstanding ESR* characteristics, they are frequently used in computers and computer peripherals. With the introduction of products with high withstand voltages, however, their adoption in LED backlight drive circuits for flat screen televisions has also been increasing. Capacitors that can operate at higher temperatures are demanded in the field of car electronics, for example, in response to increasing temperatures around parts, which result from the installation of parts at higher densities while seeking comfortable interior spaces, control and safety. With these products, we seek to respond to these market needs.
 
Features
Based on the technologies that we have developed over the years, we have developed radial lead type and chip type conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors with guaranteed performance for 3000 hours at 125°C (1500 hours for phi6.3) by optimizing the polymer formation methods, part composition and element design. As a result, our customers can now use our conductive polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors in circuits where high temperature resistance is required and previous products (105°C) could not be used. This also allows us to contribute to realizing machinery that is smaller and lasts longer.

Endurance : Long life of 3000 hours at 125°C (Long life of 1500 hours at phi 6.3)
Sample availability : October 2010
Mass production : Supply capacity of 1 million units per month starting in April 2011 planned
