Nichiconís Quick Charging Station Honored in Best 10 New Products Awards (Nippon Brand Prizes) Sponsored by The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun

 

On January 26, 2012, Nichicon Corporationís low-voltage EV quick charging station utilizing solar power generation combined with an energy storage functions was a recipient in the Best 10 New Products Awards (Nippon Brand Prizes) sponsored by The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun (The Business & Technology Daily News).

Entries were submitted by 58 companies in the 54th edition of the Nippon Brand Prizes, with 10 winners selected for contributing to the advancement of the Japanese manufacturing industry and for accelerating Japanís international competitiveness.

Nichiconís winning product, a low-voltage EV quick charging station utilizing solar power generation and storage function, is installed at the Suita Service Area on the Meishin Expressway and at other locations in western Japan. In selecting the quick charging station, The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun gave a strong endorsement of Nichiconís revolutionary technology by citing the charging station and its contribution to the advancement of Japanese industry and technology.

This marks the second honor for this Nichicon EV quick charging station following receipt of the Minister of the Environment Award at the 2011 ECEMF (Electrical Construction Equipment and Materials Fair) Product Contest in mid 2011.

This award provides further impetus for the entire company to step up efforts in bringing customers the kind of products they expect, and more, from Nichicon Corporation.
