Nichicon Head Office Hosts Nissan Motor Press Conference Media Briefed on “Power Saving Actions With Nissan LEAF” Initiative

 

On July 23, 2012, the head office of Nichicon Corporation hosted a press conference on the “power saving actions with Nissan LEAF” initiative. The initiative is a joint power saving effort by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and the Kyoto municipal and prefectural governments using the LEAF to Home power supply system.

Under “power saving actions with Nissan LEAF,” Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. will provide free of charge a total of 80 sets of EV Power Stations developed by Nichicon and Nissan LEAF EVs. The sets will go to government offices and private enterprise entities in Kyoto Prefecture that successfully apply for participation.

At the press conference, Nichicon Chairman & CEO Ippei Takeda, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Senior Vice President Masaaki Nishizawa, Kyoto Governor Keiji Yamada, and Kyoto Mayor Daisaku Kadokawa stressed their respective commitments to the dissemination of LEAF to Home power supply systems using EV Power Stations as an innovative way towards realizing a low-carbon society.
