Nichicon has developed the CR series of chip-type conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors which is optimized for applications where high reliability is required, such as in automotive and industrial equipment. It offers a broader voltage range than the CX series at 6.3 to 100V, and offers compact size , and world-class capacitance. The lineup will be on display at the CEATEC JAPAN 2013 exhibition, held at Makuhari Messe, October 1–5 (Tue.–Sat.).

Overview, Background of Development

Conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors are characterized by the high conductivity and heat resistance of the conductiive polymer electrolyte. This allows them superior ESR in high frequency ranges, as well as a broad temperature range, high reliability and superior permissible ripple voltage. The automotive sector is demanding reduced space requirements and smaller ECUs which requires more compact capacitors, while retaining a high permissible ripple voltage.. Nichicon has developed the compact, high capacity CR series with a broad range of voltages to meet this demand.

Main Features

Nichicon has been working to improve the withstand voltage of our conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors for some time. With that, the need to optimize the conductive polymer composition methods, parts composition, and materials design has resulted in a more compact capacitor with higher capacitance. This contributes to a greater range of application and smaller circuit boards due to fewer mounted parts.
