 NICHICON CORPORATION has added a 16V rating to the UCV series of high-capacitance, low-impedance chip-type aluminum electrolytic capacitors, which are the industry’s most compact and are guaranteed to 2,000 hours at 105°C. This is in response to ongoing demand for equipment that is more compact and offers higher capacitance in the automotive and home electronics markets.
 This product will be on display at the 33rd Power System exhibition, being held at Makuhari Messe from Wednesday April 18, to Friday, April 20.

Overview / Development Background

 Demand for chip-type capacitors is increasing due to the trend toward higher mounting densities in automotive equipment and home electronics. The capacitors used in digital equipment required to have low noise and low impedance. In addition to high mounting densities, as equipment grows more compact and performance increases, it is essential that individual capacitors be more compact and have higher capacitance and lower impedance.
 By expanding the ratings on this series, we are responding to these ongoing demands.


 Based on technologies the Company has cultivated to date, in addition to employing thinner high-magnification anode foil, thinner cathode foil and electrolytic paper, this product realizes higher capacity by optimizing combinations of materials used. The UCV series is guaranteed to 2,000 hours at 105°C.
